Christmas & Halloween Stuff Already?
>> Friday, 7 August 2009
This is some kind of joke? Someone has been mucking around and brought these products out early.
Say it isn't so!
Halloween & Christmas crap, for sale, in the middle of SUMMER!?!?!
in JAPAN??????
The people at CostCo Japan must be out of their minds.
Yep, a life size Santa. Just what every Japanese person needs in their 2LDK apartment.
More inappropriate Christmas products, on sale in Summer.
Ah, a wreath. Just the thing to hang on my door.
Oh and here we have a Jack-O-Lantern. How out of place would this look on the tatami floor?
Halloween rugs, just what I needed. Not.
And Halloween lights. Wow, lets let the entire neighbourhood know that we are adopting foreign festivals.
I might be a bit less cynical if these products weren't on sale at the beginning of August.
Seriously.

The retailers must be thinking with a headstart, they can maximise profit?
A life sized Santa - just the gift for lonely ladies (or men). That Santa can gyrate I presume?
But a head start on what? There is NO Christmas, let alone Halloween, rush in Japan.
I won't comment on the possible uses of a life size Santa.
Haven't you ever heard of christmas in July? we have it all the time in australia, maybe they got ready for that, and halloween in august. :)
AFAIK Christmas in July is for Ausralians who want to experience a Winter Christmas without leaving OZ.
Quite a nostalgic event, don't you think?
This is commercialism gone insane.
Or can you draw a sane parallel between the two?
