I love Summer Fireworks
Ah, Summer in Japan. The sound of the cicadas, the smell of the mosquito coils burning and the sight of fireworks in the humid night sky.
I am looking forward to going to as many Summer fireworks festivals as I can!
It's always free entertainment with the opportunity to buy overpriced beer (¥500 a can!), electronic light toys for the kids or stall food of questionable quality. Summer is an expensive time to come to Japan for a holiday, but it's worth it as there are so many free festivals to check out.
The only problem is that they are often on a Friday or Saturday night and I always have to work the next day. Sigh...

morning
and here in greece we have the same cicada songs but the smell of the mosquito coils blended with the sea breeze and the pine trees smell...
plus that we have the best prices to spend your vacation and plenty of festivals with music, food, dance and of course fireworks...
still the beer is cheap only 80 cents per can...
so come on arrange to visit us...
I hear you. The first summer festival in Sendai is this weekend, the Sanja Festival. There won't be any fireworks, those are next month, but it should be a good time.
There's a huge fireworks event in Minato Mirai, Yokohama this Sunday (July 20th) at 7:30. I'm not missing it again this year.
Hey Tom, just wondering, what's the temp over at your side during summer?
It's overcast for most of the summer over here in London... 20-25C for most of the time...
So, you work on weekends as well?
